[BLDG-SIM] Two Symposia on Collaborative Decision-Support Systems.



 
InterSymp-2000:  FOCUS SYMPOSIUM  (August 1, 2000) on:
COLLABORATIVE DECISION-SUPPORT SYSTEMS

A one-day focus symposium to discuss recent developments in
decision-support systems that support human decision makers in complex
problem situations.  Such situations are typically found in environmental
design, transportation planning and control, facilities management,
military mission planning and execution, disaster relief operations,
investment management, and manufacturing operations.  Topics of interest
include, but are not limited to:  User-computer collaboration and
partnership; Coordination of computer-based agents; Knowledge
representation; Decentralized decision making; Conflict identification and
resolution; Design and implementation of integrated systems; Experience
with in-use applications.

This focus symposium is being conducted under the auspices of
InterSymp-2000, the 12th International Conference on Systems Research,
Informatics and Cybernetics
(July 31-August 4, 2000) Markgraf-Ludwig Gymnasium, Baden-Baden, Germany.
Abstracts due by March 10, 2000; Provisional acceptance by:  April 7, 2000;

WORLD WIDE WEB AS FRAMEWORK FOR COLLABORATION

A one-day focus symposium to discuss innovative applications using the
World Wide Web for design collaboration.  The broadest interpretation of
this topic is desired, with an emphasis on applications completed or in
progress, and which can be demonstrated via the Web.  A live Web connection
will be available for demonstrations.
 

Topics of interest  and demonstrations include, but are not limited to:

Intelligent Web-Distributed Systems;
Virtual Reality Modeling Language Applications;
2-D & 3-D JAVA Based Applications;
Desktop Video Streaming;
Database Development;
Graphic User Interfaces;
Behavioral  Studies.
