[BLDG-SIM] Faculty Position-Indoor Air Quality Engineering



FACULTY POSITION-INDOOR AIR QUALITY ENGINEERING

The Department of Architectural Engineering (AE) at Penn State, one of the US' leading engineering programs focused on the design and construction of buildings, invites applications for a full time tenure track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level in the area of indoor air quality (IAQ) engineering.  Candidates should have strong credentials in the development and application of systems for microbial or non-microbial IAQ control and/or methods for the characterization of IAQ.

The position requires teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, development of an externally funded interdisciplinary research program, and supervision of graduate students conducting thesis and dissertation research.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in the development of an interdisciplinary center for indoor environment to coordinate joint research, teaching and outreach efforts that could involve AE, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine; Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Agricultural Engineering; Industrial Health and Safety; and other departments.

Candidates should hold an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline appropriate for an AE faculty member in the Building Mechanical and Energy Systems area.  Professional engineering registration is desirable but not required.  Information about Architectural Engineering at Penn State may be found at the Department web site,
