Thanks to all who responded to my last
question. I have another question related
to the ASHRAE Energy Cost Budget method.
In the notes following Table 11.4.3A in the Energy
Cost Budget section of ASHRAE 90.1 (11-A in the User's Manual), note 6 states
that "hot water supply temperature shall be modeled at 180 [degrees] F design
supply temperature and 130 [degrees] F return temperature." That's a hot
water system DT of 50F! When a DT of 20-30F is pretty standard, 50F seems
awfully aggressive (and difficult to design). Does anyone have any insight
into what I'm missing here?
