[bldg-sim] eQUEST baseboards vs. radiant floor heating

Vamshi,

You will have the same total heating load in the building whether you heat it with baseboards or with radiant floor heating. So the only real differences you will have to determine by looking at the mechanical design is the total pressure drop in both systems, the temperature difference of the two systems, and the temperature set points of the overall heating loops. Radiant floor heating is typically designed with a low temperatures heating loop and baseboards with a high temperature heating loop, so you will have to make some approximations if they are served by the same heating loop.

Vamshi-

This question has come up several times before and the only workaround that
I have ever seen proposed is as John suggested: Even if you have baseboard,
make the radiant slab also into baseboard.

John & Jeff-
I apologize for not mentioning in my mail that besides baseboard I have
these
two systems. It might sound like an overkill to have baseboard, VAV and
radiant floor but the zone seems to be designed this way for the kind of
loads.
Thanks.
Vamshi
