Senior Level Engineer

RLW Analytics, Inc.

 

 

 

Position Overview

 

The primary role of the Senior Engineer will be to acquire, initiate, perform and oversee significant energy implementation, evaluation and/or research projects.  Individual will have full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments in the energy efficiency and demand response industries.  An engineering consultant at this level will be expected to pursue solutions to controversial research questions, explore new subject areas, and develop novel concepts and unique approaches.  Individual will prepare proposals in response to RFPs, maintain and nurture relationships with important clients, and represent RLW as a manager of high-profile projects. 

 

Responsibilities

 

·                     Project Management.  Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a number of large and important projects or a project of major scope and importance.  Problems may involve unconventional or novel approaches, and require sophisticated research techniques. 

·                     Service Development.  Keeps abreast of new methods and developments affecting the organization.  Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

·                     Staff Management.  Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of a staff of consultants and engineers.  Evaluates progress of the staff and results obtained, and recommends changes to achieve overall objectives. 

·                     Energy Analysis.  Manipulate metered and other data to compute energy consumption and savings.  Develop and utilize custom spreadsheet applications and other specialized software such as DOE-2 to estimate energy impacts.  Able to report formally the techniques used to analyze specific sites and explain analysis results to both technical and non-technical personnel. 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Degree and professional license in engineering preferred.
  • Detailed technical understanding and broad market knowledge of data collection and metering systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of building operations, mechanical systems, maintenance, and energy usage. 
  • Strong analytical, research, and mathematical skills required.
  • Experience with building energy simulation software highly desirable.
  • Responsible, organized, and motivated personality and work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Experience and aptitude with Microsoft Windows and Office necessary.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.
