[BLDG-SIM] Radiant Floors in eQuest
Title: Radiant Floors in eQuest
This has be described in sevearl ASHRAE papers written in
the early 90's. I can remember presenting at a symposium with Chuck Mac Cluer on
this subject also Athinitis at Concordia has published work on this subject. The
clue is to use the PMV to ensure occuapant comfort is maintained and then do a
series of runs to see what the lowest space temperature would be still
maintaining a minimum PMV of say -0.4. Typically space temperatures in the
comfort region are down at 66-68F, so obviuosly the heat loss is reduced along
with energy consumption. This has also been presented at ASHRAE in one of the
Standard 55 seminars and last year in a symposium in
Chicago.

I was wondering if anyone know how to model a
system with radiant floor heating? Would a simplified, yet someone accurate
alternative (energy consumption wise) to knock down the heating thermostat a
bit due to less actual heating needed for human comfort? Any help is greatly
appreciated.
