I have a question about the Appendix G baseline model defined in ASHRAE 90.1-2004.
In Table G3.1, it states: "The building shall be modeled so that it does not shade itself."
Aside from disabling the self-shading option in the model, does this mean that shading from adjacent buildings should not be modeled for the baseline buildings? Does it matter if the adjacent buildings are part of the same larger building project?
How was this handled in ASHRAE 90.1-1999, Chapter 11? Should shading from adjacent buildings be modeled in either the Proposed or Baseline models for this version?
Thank you!
