[bldg-sim] separate buildings or floors

Michael,

If I understand the situation correctly, your case can be modeled using the design development wizard wherein you can create different shells for different levels or different buildings, all using the same HVAC system. For each shell, you can specify conditions like if it is on the grade or over a conditioned space etc.

Hope this helps,
Ramana.

I want to use eQUEST to model a building that has a base footprint on the lower levels but upper levels are not contiguous (like separate towers rising from the base).  What is the best way to define the upper levels?  If I define the polygon shape for the upper levels but don't fill it in completely with the building, will eQUEST ignore the floor area between the towers that is not assigned to zones?

Alternately, is there a way to model 2 separate buildings that use the same heating & cooling plants?

Thanks
