Committee Purpose: To develop and recommend procedures for identifying and reducing buildings impacts on the environment and to foster ASHRAE membership awareness of the impacts in order to enhance the long term sustainability of our environment and the quality of life for current and future generations. Committee Meetings :TC 2.8 meets twice each year, once at ASHRAE's Winter Meeting and again at ASHRAE's Annual Meeting.   The next meeting of TC 2.8 will be in New York City, New York, on January 21, 2007. The full technical committee will meet from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, January 21, 2007 at the Hilton New York in New York City in the Sutton Center room on the second floor.   The following subcommittees will meet at the New York meeting.
Visitors are welcome at all Committee and Subcommittee meetings. Committee Program Sessions at the New York Meeting :
        Committee Handbook Chapter :TC 2.8 is responsible for Chapter 17, "Energy Resources", in the Fundamentals volume of the Handbook. The most current printed version of the chapter is the 2005 edition.   We are currently working on revisions and updates for the 2009 edition. Committee Special Publication :TC 2.8 has developed the "ASHRAE Green Guide", a publication which provides design engineers with information on "green" or sustainable building design. This book is available in the ASHRAE Bookstore. The Green Guide subcommittee is developing enhancements and updates to this publication. |
